The fine peeps at Kingspoint held a mock meet today for charity. It’s been over 2 years since I did a meet and this was a perfect soft landing.
I didn’t get brave, thus the 3 white lites (sheets of paper!) on all lifts, but they all felt really good so I did add a little extra than originally planned for the last deadlift. I was only 5 pounds under my (meet) best squat two years ago, 4 pounds more than that on benchpress ... and a whopping 45 pounds short on deadlift. While that’s been the most problematic this year, it did move pretty good, even with conventional stance, and I know that it’s just a matter of doing the work. Of course, today has got me thinking about numbers for the October meet. Target in KGs - squat 80, bench 60, deadlift 90

I don't know how that warrants a full post, but it does. I have been like "I feel great. I love gym on Friday. Wow, I feel pumped. blah blah blah ." So.... either I am having a bit of a moment.... or there's something to this Friday thing. It's happened before, so I am going with the latter.
Believe it or not, it's taken me a few days to relax from the "I got my CPU Card" hype of March 4th. At this rate, I still have to :
I gotta get a grip. Or maybe, just maybe....this is why I have so much fun. I am made up of mostly feelings, after all. Why not throw some more on the fire! :) Went for a spa day with my bestie yesterday. Massage dude (who had a thing for feet, but... more on that later), said my muscles seemed "dense, tight". I said I worked out a lot. To which he replied..."Oh yeah, you don't look buff".
A*#hole. To which I replied "under this layer of fat, I am way buff". And then the foot thing . Which on second thought, I care not to relive. But it was a little creepy. He is going to be a chiropodist. Which I guess is like a guy who has a thing for asses becoming a proctologist. Anyway...... Got this from Pastel Rainbow on Fiverr. Fiverr is a great concept (I have done some other small projects) and this seller was no exception to my great experience so far. And now I can put this on my blog. Yay! The annual "thanks for the boatload of money" award goes to......ME. 'Cause the money went to Goodlife. It's essentially thanking me for doing 144 PT sessions in a year; so , like yeah, thanks for the money. :) That being said, I don't regret a single cent. It's among the most worthwhile investments I've ever made. I actually I'm tempted to go on and on about what I love about it, .... But I just got back from the gym, and I feel strong and calm.... And I think that says it all. So I've been lifting weights for about 11 months. And I haven't golfed for about a year....since the last MS charity tourney. I didn't get better.... in fact, we won "most honest team", I.e. worst score. That's never happened before. :) But a good day was had by all, and some serious money raised. And my drive was a bit better...and I can't expect lifting to improve my short game. Here we are at the 2nd hole. |
