Calendar from LIFTIUM. Love this little app! 2 weeks of mostly white space owing to a back spasm...but back at it now. Exceptionally low weight, but hopefully can get to 135# squat in a week and then fight for the next 20# back. It's hard to lose traction as I fall SO far back. :( But I gave a lot of fight in me ...or at least am developing it, so it's not a rush. Perhaps compassion, to myself, is just another version of restraint to learn.

I was going to try to do the gym every day in January... but might have to travel. So I am still going to TRY, but won't stress out if I don't make it. Typically it works out to 16-19 days a month. So January is better at 20+!
New targets for 2016! (by end of June, actually...)
What a great year. I could go on and on. I guess what's what this blog is, after all. My journal of meanderings. :)
Anyhoo.... I hit my 'body weight back squat' target; actually did 165#. I did not get the pull up. I am still quite happy with progress. On to 2016! I made my target of body-weight squat a week ago. So... I was early! So last night we did a run to hit my 1RM. And... it's 165#... here is the video. I failed out at 170 # (not posting that vid!!), and am pleased that I saw it through!
Now I just to squeeze out that chin up in 2015.... oh my poor, poor boob. it took a serious hit.
My gym (yes, MY GYM... I have decided that I am a gym person, vs just a person going to the gym...) seems to have 4 types of ladies;
a) Super duper fit. like, crazy fit. like, hard not to stare.... b) People not as fit, who are staring at type "a" c) People who aren't fit at all, but are trying! d) type A, but add these injection looking duck-lips, and a lot of make-up I say this because there are actually ALOT of type D. And I just don't get it. I started as Type c, am now type b. And maybe someday, will be a type a. :) But I really hope that type D is not some inevitability of extreme gym-ness..... |
